Born in 1968 at Kings Mill Hospital, Dan (Real Name Shaun Willows) was raised by Parents: Ronald Michael Willows & Eileen Willows In Rainworth (4 Miles East Of Mansfield) the youngest of 10 children. His first introduction to music came when his elder brother started learning to play acoustic guitar. Dan always idolised his brother and decided to learn as well.
As he reached 14 years of age his parents bought him his first electric guitar. It was a gibson copy from kays catalogue. (well it worked.) having a few years of getting involved with school bands and trying to be like Brian May, he teamed up with Darren Hodgekinson and started getting into writing songs. Dan & Darren would both play acoustic guitars and both influenced by Simon & Garfunkel and Everley Brothers became local street Heroes in Rainworth. but time went by and at 16yrs of age Darren joined the army and Dan followed in his Fathers footsteps and worked at Rufford Colliery. ending the dream of making something out of the music scene.
Dan left the music scene and just worked his days at Rufford Colliery. He was going out with friends at weekend. On one particular night at the age of 19yrs, he met Beverly Singhal, and was smitten. They got married in 1989 (and still are.) and they had three children all boys Named Daniel,Dominic & Ashley. As the children got older Bev encouraged Dan to start playing again. He formed a duo with a guitarist named Sean Dale called Free Spirit.
Dan had not played the guitar for a number of years and lacked confidence to play again so took up the role as lead vocalist. after a few years free spirit came to a bitter end leaving Dan ready for throwing the towel in. Bev came to the rescue and encouraged him to go it alone. For ten years, Dan has been working on his own act with support from Bev, he has gone from strength to strength, gaining the confidence to pick up and play the guitar and also making some noise on his alto saxophone. Dan's solo career has grown stronger, life goes on and so does Dan.x
